Play music simultaneously on all devices

With the Multi-Room Music function the Alexa app lets you play music on all of your Echo speakers, so you can listen with an Echo from any room.

To get started, open the Alexa app on your phone and select Appliances at the bottom of the screen. Then tap on it Plus icon in the top right corner and choose Set up multi-room music. Select all of the Echo speakers you want to play music on and follow the onscreen instructions.

Stop by all your Echo speakers at the same time

Whether you are in another room or not at all in the house, Amazon’s Drop-In feature can help you quickly get in touch with someone at home. And if you have multiple speakers, you can pass by your devices at the same time.

For example, if you have a Echo Show in your kitchen- and a Echo Dot in your basement you can talk about both. Just say “Alexa, drop by on all devices” to get started.

Turn your living room into a home theater

Just like listening to music on any of your devices, you can do the same with your TV. With your Echo speakers, you can turn your living room into a home theater. To do this, you must connect your Echo devices to a smart TV or Fire stick.

Note that this works best with one of the speakers designed for high-quality sound, such as a Echo studio or a Alexa compatible soundbar.

Make announcements and set reminders for all of your Echo devices

If you must set a reminder for yourself or make an announcement that everyone in your house can hear, it’s easier to hear if you have multiple speakers set up in the house. After all, if you only have one Echo speaker, you may not hear an announcement or reminder when you step into another room.

To make an announcement on all of your Echo devices, open the Alexa app and select the To communicate icon at the bottom of the screen. Crane Announce and type in what you want Alexa to play over all your speakers. You can also say, “Alexa, make an announcement.”

Select for reminders Reminders and Alarms from the Alexa app menu. Crane Memories and select Add reminder. Type the reminder, date and time you want to make the announcement. Crane Announces of and select All devices. Now if you set a reminder, Alexa will broadcast it to all of your Echo speakers.
