As a web-based service, it is more difficult to make screen shots directly in Google Presentations. You must record your screen with Screencastify for Chrome and save it in Google Drive, where you can import it later into your presentation.
You must download and install the Screencastify extension for Google Chrome before you begin. Because Screencastify saves screen recordings on Google Drive, you must also sign in to the same Google account that you use for Google Presentations.
Both Chrome and the Screencastify extension require permission to use your microphone and camera, depending on whether you want to record them. The Screencastify extension will ask you for permission during the first installation process.
Making a screen recording with Screencastify
The advantage of Screencastify for your screen recording is that your videos are stored on Google Drive, where you can then easily save them and import them into Google Presentations. Screencastify also allows webcam and microphone recording, so you can record an action with an audio track and visual demonstration.
Unless you decide to upgrade, Screencastisfy limits the screen recording to five minutes. If your recording must be longer, you must upgrade. If that is a problem, you must record your desktop with other methods and upload the video to Google Drive manually.
