Have you ever swiped right on your iPhone's lock screen or home screen? That's the Today View screen with widgets from Apple's stock apps. If you want to customize this screen, you can add and customize widgets from third party apps and reorder everything that is already there.
By default, Apple shows you the Weather app widgets, Siri suggestions, Music, Favorites, and more. But that is not everything. When you enter edit mode, you will find that many of the apps you have installed (be it popular apps or indie) have useful widgets.
You can add extra functionality to your iPhone using third-party app widgets. Here are a few recommendations:

To start, swipe right when on your iPhone home screen to access the Today view. Here you can swipe up to see more widgets and tap one of the arrow buttons to expand or collaborate on a widget.
Swipe all the way to the bottom of the widgets screen and tap the "Edit" button to customize the Today View screen.

In the section More widgets you will find a list of the widgets for apps installed on your iPhone. A single app can contain multiple widgets.

To reorder widgets, tap the three line icon on the right side of the screen and then drag each item to reorganize the list.
After adding and reordering widgets, you may want to delete some of Apple's inventory widgets. To do this, simply tap the red minus button (-).
Tap the "Delete" button.

When installing new apps, you can go back to the edit screen and add new widgets to the Today view by following the steps above.
In addition, you can add widgets to your iPhone by long pressing the app icons. On the home screen, tap and hold a newly installed app. If it supports widgets, you will see it in the context menu. This is a quick way to use widgets without even opening the Today view.
