Blue Alexa ring color
You will see a glowing blue ring on your Echo speaker more than any other. The devices will emit a spinning blue ring when turned on. The device will also display a blue ring while listening. In addition, a lighter shade of blue points towards the person who woke up the smart speaker.
As soon as the user asks a question or makes a request, the blue ring alternates between blue and light blue. You can also see a spinning blue light ending in a purple flash. This indicates that Do Not Disturb is activated.

White Alexa ring color
Amazon Echo devices use a white ring to indicate volume levels. When the volume is set to 100%, the entire Alexa ring is white. When it is 50%, only half of the ring lights up. You get the idea. If you ever see a spinning white color, it means Alexa Guard is in Away Mode.
Orange or purple ring colors
You rarely see an orange ring around your Alexa, at least if you have a reliable Wi-Fi network. The orange light indicates that your Alexa is pairing with a new network.
The purple Alexa ring is another Wi-Fi related indicator. However, you will only see the purple ring if your speaker already has connection problems. In fact, you will likely see the purple ring around the same time that you see an orange ring. You can check your router or view the device settings with the Amazon Alexa app.
Green or yellow ring color
The color will flash green when someone calls or comes in to your device. This will turn to a rotating green light when you accept a call, and it will continue to turn green throughout your call.
If you happen to miss a call, the Alexa ring color will pulse yellow to indicate you have an unopened message. Just ask Alexa to check your notifications or play your messages to hear them and the yellow ring should disappear.
Red Alexa ring color
The color is solid red when the Amazon Echo device’s microphone is turned off. This also happens when you turn off the camera (if your device has one).
If an Amazon Echo device doesn’t have lights, it means you’ve initiated a voice command and Alexa is listening for your input. Either that or your device is disconnected. You can check the power cable if the speaker does not respond.
