Fantasian, the latest RPG from Final Fantasy maker Hironobu Sakaguchi, is now available exclusively on Apple Arcade for Mac, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. Inspired by Final Fantasy IV, the new game combines 3D characters with handcrafted environments, and features the music of Nobuo Uematsu, a longtime employee of Sakaguchi.

Fantasian‘s art style should also keep things fresh. All of the game’s environments are actually handcrafted dioramas, scanned to accommodate the game’s computer-controlled characters and visual effects. As if that wasn’t enough, composer Nobuo Uematsu went all out with the music of the games, a fact you can see in IGNa look behind the scenes.
In an interview with The edge, Sakaguchi says he found inspiration for it Fantasian during playback Final Fantasy IVThe new game stems from Sakaguchi’s RPG roots and offers a console-like experience even on mobile devices. That being said, Fantasian doesn’t try to hide its role as a mobile game, and as Sakaguchi points out, navigating a handcrafted world using touch controls provides a unique “synergy” not found on the big screen.
Apple Arcade subscribers can play Fantasian on their iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac today at no extra cost. An Apple Arcade subscription costs $ 5 per month, but you can try the service for free for a month if you haven’t used it in the past.
