Apple released the third developer beta for iOS 14.5 today, Tuesday, March 2, before immediately pulling it off the developer portal. The update was surprising at first, as Apple released it at an unusual time and was only available as a download from the dev portal, without any OTA option.
The update came two weeks after developers posted the second 14.5 beta, and 13 days after public testers received their second 14.5 update.

Because this update is so fresh, it’s not clear yet what new features or changes we’ll see. Beta 2 has added more than 200 new emoji to iOS, in addition to Apple Music lyrics sharing, new Apple Music swipes, new shortcut options, including a screenshot tool, among other changes. At the moment, iOS 14.5 will introduce more than 30 new features and changes for your iPhone.

Download and install the latest iOS 14.5 Beta
Once Apple has made dev beta 3 available again, you will need an Apple developer account to update your iPhone. You can get the recovery image from your dev portal and then install it using iTunes or Finder. Otherwise, install the configuration profile and then update it by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Finally, you can just wait for it to install automatically if you have a developer profile and “Automatic Updates” is turned on.
