After months of waiting, Battlefield 5 s battle royal fashion, Firestorm is almost ready for prime time. DICE and EA have revealed when the new mode will start, and it is just around the corner. It was a little surprising to hear that Firestorm Firestorm was not to be launched together with Battlefield 5 so hope that the waiting time goes off.
Firestorm officially launches on March 25 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. When it comes, players will be able to jump into 64-player multiplayer battles either solo or in squads of four. Although there will be a duos mode added to the game, we will not see it happen until sometime in April as part of Battlefield 5 s Trial of Fire content.
EA and DICE compiled a movie trailer for Firestorm which you can see below. It does not give us an actual look at Firestorm s games, but it gets the basic idea over enough good. Like the royal locations of other battles, you will be released on a map and forced to bet on weapons, armor and things that you are trying to survive long enough to be the last player (or squad) standing.
Firestorm offers a little spin on the battle Royale with its great focus on vehicles. In conclusion, EA and DICE say that there are 17 different vehicles to use in Firestorm ranging from helicopters to tractors, and even though we have seen vehicle combat in the royal titles of the fight earlier, Battlefield ] does it really better than most. There will also be goals to complete during Firestorm matches, which can give rare loot that can swing a match to your advantage.
It sounds like Firestorm will be a nice match royal mode, but you have to wonder how much success it can hope to find in this world where free-to-play games dominate the battle royal scene. Two of the royal title royal titles around – Fortnite and Apex Legends – have the freedom to play driving growth. Can a match royale in a paid title compete with it?
Blackout did a pretty good job of withdrawing people when it was first launched, but these days, all eyes seem to be on Apex Legends which is temporarily another fight royal title from Electronic Arts. It will be interesting to see how Firestorm works on the current combat region, but being tied to a game that costs $ 60 may mean it will be difficult to grow its record from the pie in an already crowded space.
