It’s up to Bama and the Buckeyes for the national college football championship. Alabama and Ohio State both bring unbeaten records and a wealth of NFL talent into Monday night’s title game. Alabama blew out Notre Dame in the first semifinal last week to beat the ticket to the final, and the Buckeyes defeated Clemson in the other semifinal.

Ohio State turned an offensive blast against Clemson with Justin Fields having his best game behind center. He threw six touchdown passes, three to tight ends and a few to beat Chris Olave. Buckeye ball carrier Trey Sermon ran off his own path for two scores to pile 193 yards on the ground, which followed a school record of 331 rushing yards in the previous game in the Big Ten Championship. (Sermon can also get in the way of defenders.) The Buckeyes will need a similar offensive output to keep up the Tide, which is currently an eight-point favorite in play.
The CFP National Championship kicks off in Miami Monday, January 11 at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) and is broadcast on ESPN.
