Android devices are great, but their small size can sometimes be restrictive. When you connect your device to a projector, you can share your screen with others for business or pleasure. Here are a few ways to do this.

If you do not have a projector, you can also connect Android to a TV. Projectors, however, are the better option because they normally project a much larger screen size than a TV, making them ideal for playing media or data presentations.

Connecting via Chromecast wirelessly

The easiest method to connect an Android device to a projector is Google To use Chromecast. For this, your projector must support HDMI connections.

After connecting your Chromecast to the HDMI port, you can wirelessly stream the screen of your Android device to it. Your Chromecast then displays the content via the projector.

Make sure you have turned off an energy-saving mode on your Android device, as this can reduce the quality of the stream.

If you have not already done so, download and install the Google Home app from the Google Play Store.

Open the "Home" app and then tap the Accounts tab in the lower right corner.

Tap the Accounts tab in the Google Home app.

Scroll down and tap "Mirror Device".

On the Accounts tab of the Google Home app, tap Mirror Device

If you see a warning that your device is not optimized for casting, tap "OK". This should not prevent you from casting your screen to a Chromecast.

Tap "Cast Screen / Audio" and then select your Chromecast to connect to it.

Once you are connected, your screen should start streaming to your projector via your Chromecast.

Wired connections

If a wireless option is not & # 39; t suitable, you can use a wired connection instead. All Android devices come with a microUSB or USB-C option.

With the right cable you can connect your Android device to a projector that uses an HDMI cable directly. Another supported standard is MHL, which also connects via HDMI ports.

USB-C to HDMI cable

Newer Android devices, such as the latest Samsung phones, use USB-C to charge. If you have a USB-C device, you can use a USB-C to HDMI cable to connect your device directly to a projector with HDMI connection.

However, keep in mind that a disadvantage of USB-C to HDMI is a lack of power. If you use other wired methods, such as MHL, you can power your device while it is connected.

Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL)

Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) uses specially designed HDMI cables. Unlike the newer USB-C method, MHL cables use microUSB. As mentioned above, it can also power your device while delivering digital video and audio.

Some projectors support HDMI, but you must specifically search for an HDMI port with an MHL label on your projector. If you don't see one, your device is not receiving power. Your Android device must also support MHL.

To connect via MHL, you don't have to do anything on your Android device, except connect it to your projector with a suitable cable. On your projector, switch the input to the corresponding MHL HDMI port to view your projected Android screen.

Wireless Connections

Miracast and Wi-Fi Direct are wireless standards that connect devices to other devices such as displays. Previously, Android supported Miracast officially, but dropped it with Android 6 Marshmallow. However, Miracast still works with some Android devices because it is based on Wi-Fi Direct, which is still supported by Android.

Unless both devices specifically state that they support Wi-Fi Direct or Miracast , the best way to see if it establishes a connection is to use one of these standards to try it.

search your projector for & # 39; Screen Mirroring & # 39 ;, & # 39; Device Mirroring & # 39; or a similar name and then switch to that mode.

The best way to connect to Miracast is to use a third-party app, such as Castto, to make the connection. Because it is no longer officially supported, it is not guaranteed that Miracast works with modern Android devices.

If this is the case, use a Chromecast, wired connection or try using Wi-Fi Direct.
