Popular password manager Dashlane just unveiled its new Essentials plan, which offers a more affordable option at $ 2.99 per month (billed annually) or $ 3.99 per month with no strings attached. It offers more features than the free plan.

“Dashlane makes managing passwords easier and more secure than writing them down or reusing the same passwords for multiple accounts. Our goal has always been to be so easy to use that people don̵

7;t have to change their online behavior for security reasons, and to work seamlessly with the increasing number of devices, operating systems and browsers we use every day, ”said Derek Snyder, Chief Product Officer at Dashlane.

With the Essentials plan, you can store as many passwords as you want and access them on two devices. It also provides secure notes for storing sensitive plain text information, such as private keys, along with Dashlane’s own one-click automatic password changer for updating weak or reused passwords quickly and easily.

Dashlane’s Premium plan costs $ 6.49 a month (or $ 4.99 if you pay annually) and is our pick for the best premium password manager. But given its high cost, we’re pleased to see that Dashlane offers a more affordable option that’s more robust and useful than the basic free plan that stores up to 50 passwords and only lets you access them on one device.

Our best overall pick, 1 Password, costs just $ 2.99 a month to start with and it gives you unlimited password storage, 1 GB for document storage, a digital wallet, two-factor authenticationand access on any device you own. We recommend 1Password, but if you prefer Dashlane’s style, or if you’re already using Dashlane and looking for a more affordable option, the Essentials Plan is a solid option.
