Your Kindle can contain thousands of books and documents, all of which can be synced across your devices. But if you want to keep your Kindle library organized, you may want to delete some files from your Kindle.
You can delete a downloaded book from your Kindle device, or you can choose to permanently delete a title from your Kindle library. Once a book is permanently deleted, it will be removed from your account and you will need to purchase it again if you want to access it again.
Delete books or documents from your Kindle
You can delete a downloaded book or permanently delete a book from your Kindle eBook reader. This works on any Kindle model, including the base Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Voyage, and Kindle Oasis.
First, turn on your Kindle and tap the ̵
Find the book you want to delete. Here, tap on the three-dot menu icon in the lower-right corner of the book cover (you can also press and hold the book cover).
You can delete the ebook download from the device or you can delete the ebook permanently from your Kindle account.
To delete the download, choose the “Delete Download” option. If the ebook was purchased from Amazon, the ebook file will be immediately deleted from your Kindle, but you will still see the ebook cover in your library.
If the ebook or document was added to your Amazon account using Caliber or some other method, you will see a pop-up message asking if you are sure you want to delete the book. Here, tap on the “Delete” button. The book will then disappear from your Kindle device.
You can also choose the “Delete Permanently” option from the book menu to delete the ebook from your Kindle library forever.
In the pop-up message, select the option “Yes, delete” to confirm.
Now the ebook will disappear from your Kindle device and your Amazon library.

Permanently delete books from the Kindle library online
If you don’t have access to your Kindle device, you can delete books from your Kindle library through Amazon’s website. You can do this for the books you bought from Amazon Kindle and for the documents you uploaded to your Kindle account.
To get started, open the Amazon website and sign in with the account you use on your Kindle device. In the top toolbar, hover over the “Account and Lists” section and click on the “Manage Your Content and Devices” option.
You will see all of your Kindle purchases in the ‘Content’ tab. To switch to viewing documents, click the drop-down menu next to the ‘View’ section and choose the ‘Documents’ option.
Now find the book or document you want to remove from your Kindle library and click the three-dot menu button next to it.
Select the option “Delete” from the menu.
In the popup, click the “Yes, delete permanently” option to delete the book or document from your Kindle library.
The book will be removed from your Amazon account. You can repeat the process to delete more books.
