What to look for with a non-medical face mask that you buy

If you are looking for masks, find one that is made of cotton ] and has a filter bag – one thicker material or multi-layered designs can catch larger particles that you accidentally stick out of the phone by talking, coughing or sneezing.

The mask you buy should be wide enough to cover your nose and chin and firm enough not to create gaps. A tight fit helps keep large particles out of the air, such as when sneezing. Medical grade masks, for example, are available in sizes.

Don't forget to wash the mask before putting it on. You may want to buy multiple masks so you always have a clean mask on hand – you should wash it when you get home after goes out in public .
