The latest set of Fortnite Challenges are live for Season 6 Week 6, and one that might give you trouble is the quest to complete the swim time trial at Weeping Woods or Coral Castle. With timed challenges like this one, you need to be fast on your feet and avoid gunfire from other enemies. Since you have to swim for this particular challenge, it is even more difficult. There may be some luck involved in completing this challenge which can cause some frustration.
In this guide, we’ll show you where to find both swimming time trials, and we’ll help you complete them with some time to spare. Ultimately, you still have to be fast, but with our tips you should have it easier. Here̵
How to complete the swim time trial at Weeping Woods or Coral Castle
As shown in the map above (courtesy of Fortnite.gg), you’ll find the locations of both swimming time trials – one at Coral Castle and one at Weeping Woods. The challenge only requires you to complete one time trial, so choose the one that makes sense in relation to the Battle Bus trajectory. Choose the spot that is further out of the way so that you don’t run into other players. We even recommend looting and grabbing a few weapons before starting the trial, in case an enemy tries to take you out while you’re swimming.
When you’re done, walk to the stopwatch icon that indicates the location of the trial. Communicate with it (by pressing Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox and Y on Nintendo Switch) to activate the trial period, and you will be tasked with hitting every checkpoint to reach the goal. The challenge may be more difficult than you expect as you have a limited amount of time to hit each checkpoint. The best plan is to jump while swimming, which will give you a speed boost. You just need to time your jumps so you don’t accidentally jump over (or under) any of the control points. If you miss one, you have to go back for it.
As you approach the final checkpoints, you will notice them flashing, indicating that time is running out. If this happens, don’t panic as you have a few seconds left to complete the challenge. In case you don’t catch them all on time, you can restart the challenge by revisiting the stopwatch, so keep that in mind. But from our experience, as long as you jump while swimming, you should be able to pass the final checkpoint with time to spare. Once you complete a time trial, you will complete the challenge and earn 24,000 XP for your trouble.
