Week 3 of Fortnite’s season 6 is on the way with a new set of challenges to tick off your list. This week’s challenges are varied in difficulty, although only a small part should cause you trouble. The first one we will tackle is flying 20 meters with a chicken. Of course, season 6 has introduced wildlife to the map, including boars, frogs and chickens.
You can actually grab the chickens like in The Legend of Zelda and use them to slide around, which is actually an effective strategy for getting out of a bind. In this guide, we’ll show you everything you need to know about chickens, including where to find them and how to fly them. Here’s how to fly 20 meters with a chicken in it Fortnite
Where to find chickens
Step one of this challenge is to actually find a chicken. They spawn in fixed locations around the world, so use the map above (thanks, Fortnite.gg) to find out where they are. As you can see, the center section of the map has many chickens to choose from, especially east of The Spire. The thing is – this area can be quite busy at times, so depending on your skill level, you may want to go to one of the other locations.
The other thing to keep in mind about this challenge is that the game tracks your progress cumulatively, meaning you don’t have to fly 20 meters all at once. That’s a good thing – you can try it multiple times in more than one match. And of course we recommend trying this challenge in Team Rumble so you can respawn if you get knocked out. With all that in mind, let’s jump into the meat and potatoes of the challenge.
How to use them to fly
The problem with the chickens is that they are quite fast and difficult to catch. But if you just keep running after them, you’ll eventually catch up with them – just make sure you get the Grab button on your controller while chasing the chicken: Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox and AND on Nintendo Switch. With a little luck, you can grab the chicken and hold it above your head.
At this point you have a few options. Depending on the area you are in, you may be able to just jump off a high hill, which will easily get you close to 20 meters. Otherwise, you have to jump around by pressing X on PlayStation, A on Xbox, or B. on Nintendo Switch. Do this repeatedly and you will eventually accumulate 20 yards of flight time – along with 24,000 XP for your troubles.
