On Monday, the donut maker unveiled a new promotion with a free Original Glazed donut to “anyone showing their COVID-19 vaccination registration card” at “participating US locations.” The promotion started on Monday and will run through December 31st. It allows “one redemption per guest per day” so you can theoretically get a free donut every day for the rest of the year.
How do you get a free Krispy Kreme donut a day once you have been vaccinated?
To be eligible, you must show your COVID-19 vaccination card. It will need to show that you have had at least one of the two injections of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or the one-time Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Wearing your “I’ve been vaccinated” sticker doesn’t count. The company adds on its website that employees will not document or take photos of your vaccination card as it “contains personal information”.
You have to go to a Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru to get the deal, with the company noting that it doesn’t make the free donuts available to those who order online or through delivery apps.
You can still get a free Krispy Kreme donut even if you don’t get the vaccine
Those who decide not to get the vaccine can also get free donuts, although Krispy Kreme’s offering is a bit more limited there.
“We understand that choosing the COVID-19 vaccine is a very personal decision,” the company said on its website. It adds that if you decide not to get the vaccine, you can still get a free Original Glazed donut and medium brew coffee on Mondays “to get your week off to a good start.”
The offer for people who have not been vaccinated starts on March 29 and runs every Monday through May 24.
