ESPN Plus (also known as ESPN +) is ESPN's top offering for subscriptions, a standalone service that offers live and repeated coverage of sports, original shows and specials unique to the service. But it costs money. Knowing how to cancel ESPN Plus is helpful in these times if you find it just a little too expensive in your current situation.
On its own, ESPN costs you about $ 4.99 a month or $ 49.99 a year. There are also better Disney-based bundles that include ESPN Plus and Hulu all in one for $ 12.99. More information about that bundle here.
ESPN Plus still has its perks during the sports seasons and has some wonderful extras, but since there isn't a lot of sport going on it's reasonable to shorten or bundle your subscriptions. Subscription service fatigue is real.
Heck, you may have just gotten ESPN Plus to watch the dazzling Michael Jordan docuseries The Last Dance, and the accompanying series titled Detail: 1998 Chicago Bulls, hosted by Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, and head coach Phil Jackson. But with The Last Dance halfway through, you want to keep an eye on your subscriptions. We get it.
We've canceled the ESPN Plus service in several ways, because it's a bit complicated depending on how you subscribed. Of course, ESPN makes it easy to get ESPN Plus, but removing it is not difficult, it only takes a few steps.
Cancel ESPN Plus on the Internet:
Open your ESPN Plus subscription account by following this link to the account page at plus.espn.com (note, this only works if you are logged in on the Internet.) Hit Log in and enter your ESPN account details.
Answer the phone:
You can also cancel your subscription the old fashioned way by calling ESPN Customer Support at 1 (800) 727-1800. This is not a secret tip, ESPN states this in its ESPN Plus Subscriber Agreement. (Note that ESPN Plus says it will not make refunds, in full, in part or otherwise, so keep that in mind.)
Cancel ESPN Plus in-app purchases through the Play Store or App Store:
If you signed up for ESPN Plus through your mobile device, you need to know how to cancel a Google Play Store subscription, which is fully described at the link.
For an Apple App Store subscription, Apple has a guide for iPhone that we have produced for you below:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions. (If you don't see "Subscriptions", tap "iTunes & App Store" instead. Then tap your Apple ID, tap View Apple ID, sign in, scroll down to Subscriptions, and tap Subscriptions.) Tap the subscription you want to manage.
- Tap Cancel subscription. If you don't see Cancel Subscription, the subscription has already been canceled and will not be renewed.
Cancel ESPN Plus from other providers: Roku, Amazon and more
You may be signed in to ESPN Plus from another provider , such as Roku or Amazon or iTunes, and so on.
You may be ready to leave and cancel your ESPN Plus subscription, but to get this done it takes a few steps. Luckily, ESPN Plus has published a cancellation guide with Roku, a cancellation guide with Amazon, along with a guide for iTunes. Specific instructions are available for each provider.
That's it, your ESPN Plus subscription has been canceled! Of course, you can keep using it during your existing billing cycle, and it's quite easy to sign up again if you decide you want to check what's being cooked once the sport is back on the table. The Disney Plus / Hulu / ESPN Plus bundle is our top recommendation there at $ 12.99.
