Create a photo book or calendar
You have already saved several photo albums, as well as hundreds of photos on your phone and laptop. Collect those photos and use them to make a photo book or calendar to send to your mom for Mother's Day. You can use services like Mixbook, Google Photos and Walmart Photo to keep costs down.
When you have finished making the photo book, you can have it sent to your mother. Some sites offer free shipping if you spend a certain amount, otherwise shipping costs will vary depending on the service you use.

Plant a small flower garden
If you live nearby, you can surprise your mother on Mother's Day by a small flower garden to plant at her house. It will help her feel close to you even when you are not there and she will be able to think of you every time she sees it.
If you don't have green fingers, try making wine cork planters. First you need to hollow out several wine corks and place a small succulent in each. Then fill it in with soil to support the plant. You can glue a magnet to the back of the cork so she can place it on her fridge. Succulents require little water and sunlight, so maintenance is lower than other plants.
Do you want to choose something more practical? Consider offering mom a backyard vegetable garden . (Just be ready for significantly more work.)

Make her a care package
Staying indoors is no fun – and even if Mom is a savvy online shopper, she might focus more on supplies. Fortunately, you can spoil her: put a small kit together with things your mom enjoys, like coffee, books or wine. Here are some options to get you started.
Wine Lovers: Give your mom the rest day she deserves with a wine package. It can include a bottle of wine, bath salt and a good book to read.
Coffee Lovers: If your mom can't do tasks without that first cup of coffee, make her a coffee kit . It can include a mug of her favorite coffee and a journal or planner where she can write down her tasks.
You can even collect small supplies she needs, such as lotion, chapstick and hand soap. Or if she's a foodie make her a food basket of dry food she's never tried.

Make a door hanger
Get creative and make a door hanger or wreath to hang on her front door. It doesn't have to be anything special – you can make it from tissue paper and a paper plate. You can find quick and easy designs on Pinterest.
Or if you want to use your design skills, find a metal wire (such as a coat hanger) to make a frame and collect some greenery around your house. For example, you can use evergreen leaves or pines. Use something like dental floss, fishing line or thin metal wire to attach the green to the metal frame. When your wreath is ready, tie a ribbon around the top so you can hang it on the door.
