If you want to root, this is step one. If you are a hobbyist, it is vital. It is the hidden menu & # 39; Developer Options & # 39; from Android and it is definitely worth it to take 30 seconds to unlock.
Open the Settings app on your Pixel 4 or 4 XL and scroll down. Tap & # 39; Over the phone & # 39; and then scroll down again. Now tap "Build number" seven times in quick succession. You will be asked to enter your pin code for the lock screen and after you have done this, you will receive a toast with the message "You are now a developer!"
Scroll down to the end of the developer options menu. the Settings app and tap & # 39; System & # 39 ;. Tap "Advanced" to expand a few more options, and one of these will be "Developer Options".
Here you will find several useful options. There is "OEM unlocking", which allows you to send the Fastboot command that unlocks your bootloader and allows unofficial firmware (read: root). There is "USB debugging", which allows you to send ADB commands when enabled. And you can even enable "Force 90 Hz" to always display the screen of your Pixel 4 at 90 fps. But that is just the tip of the iceberg!
