How to add, edit or delete recurring events in Google Calendar

If you need to schedule meetings regularly, keep track of them by scheduling recurring events in Google Calendar. Learn how to add, edit, and remove recurring appointments from your personal or work calendar.

How to add a recurring event in Google Calendar

If you want to add a recurring event in Google Calendar, you can do it from the website or mobile app.

Using Google Calendar in a web browser

To add a recurring event through the Google Calendar website, select the “Create”

Fill in the details for your event using the box provided, add an event title, description and location, along with other relevant details.

You can also select “More options” to view the full menu of event options.

In the event details popup, add appropriate details (such as event title and location) in the box provided, or press

Next, you need to select a suitable time and date for your event.

Choose the correct date for your event using the pop-up calendar. Repeat this process for the time of the event.

Select the date and time boxes to set the time and date of the event in Google Calendar.

Selecting a new time and date for your event will display other options, including whether your event should repeat or not.

To set your event as a recurring event, select the “Does not repeat” drop-down menu.

Select the repeat drop-down menu to change how often your event will take place.

Select how often you want your event to repeat from the options offered. For example, if you want the event to repeat daily, select “Daily” from the drop-down menu.

If you’re using the Google Calendar app on Android, iPhone or iPad, you can add a new recurring event by tapping the ‘+’ button in the lower right corner of the app menu.

How to edit or delete a recurring event in Google Calendar

A recurring event in Google Calendar is just like any other event and can be edited or deleted if your plans change. For example, you can propose a new time for an event, change the location, or completely end a series of regular events.

You can edit or delete a recurring event through the website or mobile app.

Using Google Calendar in a web browser

If you are using Google Calendar in your web browser, you can edit or delete an existing appointment by selecting the title of the appointment in the calendar.

In the event details popup, select the Edit Event button to edit it.

In the Google Calendar app, tap an event title to make changes to it.

From the event details menu, tap the Edit button to make changes.

You must choose whether to delete that specific event, delete that event plus all future recurring events, or delete all samples of that recurring event from your calendar (past, present, and future).

Select one of the available options and tap “Delete” to confirm.

Select whether to remove a single event or a series or recurring events from the options displayed, then tap

Once deleted, the event will be removed from your calendar and the changes will be synced across all of your devices.
