Do Not Disturb is the best way to block all interruptions on your iPhone without turning off. All notifications and alerts are muted, but the same cannot be said for phone calls. Bypass repeat calls by default Do Not Disturb, which can be quite frustrating if you’re in a movie, class, or board meeting. It’s good for emergencies, but not for people who can’t get the hint.
If someone in your contacts calls you a second time within three minutes of their first call, their call will ignore Do Not Disturb and it will ring on your iPhone. While you can allow emergency contacts by coming through, anyone with this feature can get through, even if it̵
First, launch the Settings app and go to “Do Not Disturb”. Then turn off “Repeated Calls” to prevent repeated calls from getting through if you want nothing but silence.
For the record, you should also go to “Allow calls from” and select “No one”. This prevents anyone from coming through DND, which is good if you don’t want calls when it’s on. However, if you still want calls from selected contacts to continue, try one, choose another option in case of emergency.
Below you can see what it looks like when repeat calls are allowed to ignore Do Not Disturb (left) and when they are not (right). Instead of receiving an incoming full screen call, you will continue to receive silent notifications on your lock screen for repeated calls.
