The first chance that you should cancel your Amazon purchase is right after you place it. At this stage, you may realize that you picked up the wrong size or you need a slightly different product. The steps to wipe out your purchase are extremely easy, so don’t worry. This is what to do:

  1. Log into your Amazon account.
  2. Click on the Returns and orders button in the top right corner. It could be next to your Account button.
  3. Find the order you want to cancel from your open orders and select the Canceling things button.
  4. You can now cancel all or part of your order with the checkboxes.
  5. Choose your reason for cancellation, then click Cancel checked items button.

There you go, a canceled Amazon order. It doesn’t get much easier than that. In fact, it gets more difficult the longer you wait, so let’s see what to do if Amazon has already picked up your order.

If you like to take risks and cancel late in the game, these are the steps for you. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your order will be canceled at this stage, but it is worth a try. These are the steps to follow:

  1. Log into your Amazon account.
  2. Go to it Returns and orders section and find the order you want to cancel.
  3. Go through the checkboxes and select your reason for cancellation.
  4. Now click on it Request for cancellation knot and hope for the best.

As you can see, the steps involved are almost identical to the ones above, just without a guaranteed cancellation. You should click Request Cancellation instead of canceling checked items, but only because there is a chance that your order has already been picked and packed to leave the warehouse.

If you find yourself in the second section frantically trying to cancel an Amazon order after it has already been picked, this is your next step. You will have to wait for your unwanted purchase to ship and arrive at your home before you can get rid of it. In any case, Amazon makes the return and refund process as easy as possible. When you’re ready to return, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Amazon account.
  2. Go back to the Returns and orders section, this time looking for returns.
  3. Find the relevant order and select it Return or replace button.
  4. Choose your reason for returning from the available options, or leave a comment in the text box.
  5. Click on the Continue button.
  6. Check your return information and then click on it Submit a return request button.

While you went through the steps correctly, keep in mind that Amazon has a few rules for returns. First, anything you return must be in an unopened or unworn condition. Second, you usually have 30 days to start your return. However, Amazon is extending the return period around the holiday season, which means you can return any purchase until January 31st.

How to cancel an Amazon Fresh order

The current pandemic has made Amazon Fresh a great alternative to groceries. However, there is always a chance that you will find something unwanted in your shopping cart. You probably put it there yourself, but it’s easy enough to cancel all over again. You can also cancel individual items if you change your mind about a recipe. Here’s what to do:

  1. Make sure you are signed in to your Amazon account and go to your orders section.
  2. Choose the highlighted tab Fresh to view all your Amazon Fresh orders.
  3. Search for your order and select View or edit order to make your changes.
  4. Select or change individuals in your order using the checkboxes, just like any other order.
  5. Finally click on it Cancel checked items box.

There you go, an amended Amazon Fresh order. Remember that fresh orders are usually delivered the fastest. You only have a few hours to make changes before your food or other fresh items arrive at your doorstep.
