Visit the Netflix website on your computer, log into your account and play a TV show or movie you want to watch.
Once the video loads and starts playing, move your cursor to reveal the player controls at the bottom of the screen.
Move your cursor over the button that looks like a speedometer in the lower right corner.
A new menu window “Playback Speed” will appear. Choose one of five different speed settings to easily increase or decrease the tempo of your Netflix video.
You do not need to adjust your Netflix settings to access this feature. It should be available by default, but if it isn’t, Netflix may not yet offer it in your country. You can also try to log out and log back in.
This setting does not apply to your Netflix profile and is limited to the individual viewing session. So if you want to keep the playback speed at a certain pace, you have to adjust it every time you play a video.
The subtitles will automatically catch up with the new playback speed. Therefore, if you rely on the text on the screen, you don’t have to worry about missing a dialogue.
Netflix’s playback speed tool is also available on your phone. First, make sure you have the latest version of Netflix on your Android, iPhone or iPad.
Then launch the Netflix app and play an episode or movie. Tap the “Speed” button in the lower left corner to display the playback speed controls.
You can now adjust the Netflix playback speed to speed up or slow down the pace.
Likewise, you can personalize the look of subtitles on Netflix and even control playback using just your keyboard.
