The Google Nest Hub is great at adjusting the brightness and color temperature of the screen to the lighting of the room. It even switches to a dimmed clock mode when it̵
The second-generation Nest Hub has many sleep tracking features, which require the device to be close to your bed. You may also enjoy using a Nest Hub as a bedside companion. If the dim clock mode light bothers you, it can be turned off completely.
To do this, you need to open the Google Home app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. Find your Google Nest Hub in the list of devices.
Now tap on the gear icon in the top right corner to open the settings.
Then go to the option “View”.
First, you can decide when to activate low light mode. This is what will decide when the screen turns off. Your options are ‘Dark’ or ‘Weak’.
Then you can switch the ‘In low light’ action to ‘Turn off screen’ instead of the default ‘Show clock’.
While on this screen, you can also adjust the “Minimum Brightness” and “Screen Timeout” settings.
It’s that simple! No more “dim” screen that keeps you awake at night! In the morning, when the light comes back – or if your alarm goes off – your screen will turn back on.
