Although almost all audio devices and multimedia players support MP3 playback, only a handful of them currently support FLAC. Fortunately, there are countless ways to convert FLAC to MP3 if you prefer convenience over audio quality. The resulting file may not sound that good, but at least you can play it.
Some of the following apps are freeware, sometimes with unwanted add-ons.
We recommend that you select the custom installation option and follow it closely during the installation process. Keep your eyes open for instructions on installing other apps, changing your homepage, and other actions that can lead to unwanted changes to your machine. Then choose whether you want to install or abandon these bundled extras.
Online Audio Converter is the fastest, easiest way to convert your FLAC files to MP3. It's a free, web-based converter, so you don't have to buy a subscription or download and install anything. Everything you need to convert your FLAC files is on the main page of this website.
The only problem is that batch conversions take a little more time with Online Audio Converter than with some of our other choices. The site is clearly designed with smaller conversions in mind.

Freemake Free Audio Converter (Windows)
Freemake offers software with multiple options for managing music files and converting them to any format. The software is compatible with Windows 10, is very versatile and easy to download – the "free download" buttons are a great starting point.
Like many other converters, you can use Freemake channels, bitrate, sampling frequency and a host of other facets, making better quality control possible. You can also upload music to Google Drive or Dropbox, merge songs and perform a whole range of other basic actions.
Free MP3 Converter (MacOS)
One of the most popular audio converters in the Mac Store is the aptly titled To MP3 Converter Free, an easy-to-use utility for converting one of 200 audio and video formats to MP3. The software supports FLAC files and the conversion process couldn't be easier. With the software you can also change the output from a constant bitrate to a variable bitrate, transfer tags from the source file and set the volume to the maximum level.
To convert an FLAC file to MP3 with To MP3 Converter Free, simply select your destination folder and drag the files. If you need to convert batches of folders or files, you can purchase an annual subscription ($ 7) that also allows you to load tags and illustrations from a network resource, add fade-in and fade-out, and shorten silence before and after songs. Cloud Convert (Google Chrome)
Cloud Convert is technically a web-based converter – albeit a useful one – but it also lives as a Chrome add-on, making this the first one stop for Chromebook users. Grab the add-on, open it and you are ready to go.
Cloud Converter is also not just an audio converter. It can convert almost anything, including documents, videos, images, e-books and a laundry list of other types of content. Fortunately, the service can easily handle FLAC and MP3 files. It even works in conjunction with Google Drive, so you can retrieve files from the service and save them online when you're done, making it another great option for Chromebook users.
However, it is important to note that Cloud Convert does not & # 39; t contains extensive customization options such as some of our other choices. You can specify things like bit rate, but more in-depth controls are largely absent. Cloud Convert is therefore better if you want to keep things simple.
