The automatically played examples of Netflix are one of the most annoying functions. While browsing Netflix to watch something, you are blasted with video and sound. Now you can finally turn off these previews with Netflix, so you can browse the web quietly.
Go to the Netflix website in a web browser to access this option. This option is only available through a web browser, but applies to all your devices after you have changed them.
Log in to your Netflix account, hover your mouse over the profile icon in the top right corner of the page and click on "Account."
Under My Profile, search for your profile name and click "Play Settings."
Uncheck the "Automatically play previews while browsing on all devices" option and click "Save" to save your changes.
If you don't like auto-play in general, you can also disable the "Play next episode in a series on all devices automatically" section here. Netflix does not automatically start playing the next episode when you have finished watching an episode.
The playback settings are specific to each profile. So if you have multiple profiles for different people in your account and you want to disable the automatic play of samples for everyone, you must repeat this process for each profile.
Netflix added this option to its website on February 6, 2020.
