By putting together two Google Assistant smart speakers in stereo, you can enhance your smart home audio experience. If you need to disconnect two speakers in a stereo pair to move them to new rooms or to upgrade, do the following.
Before we proceed, you may need to manually assign the devices to your home or new rooms and re-link the speakers to your Google account once they are separated.
To separate your Google Assistant smart speakers, first select the pair you want to split in the Google Home app on iPad, iPhone or Android. From there, tap on the gear icon in the top right corner.
Then scroll down and select the “Speaker pair” option. You can see the names of the two individual speakers in the pair.
Tap the option “Separate speaker pair”.
A popup message will appear to confirm that you want to separate the two smart speakers. Finally, select ‘Separate’.
That is it! You can always fix your speakers or recreate a new Google Assistant smart speaker pair in the future to get stereo sound.
