First, swipe down from the top of the screen (once or twice depending on the manufacturer of your device) and tap the gear icon to open the “Settings” menu.
Then go to the “Display” settings.
Things look different here depending on the phone or tablet manufacturer. Most call it ‘Dark Mode’ or ‘Dark Theme’, but some call it ‘Night Mode’. There may be an option on this page to enable it.
For more options, you can tap ‘Dark theme’ on phones like the Google Pixel.

Samsung Galaxy devices offer ‘Dark mode settings’.

Dark mode options depend on the device manufacturer. Many allow you to turn on dark mode automatically at dusk and turn off at dawn. You can also choose a custom schedule.
Select your preferred dark mode automation scheme, as seen here on a Google Pixel.

And, as seen on Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

That is it! If you want apps to follow the Dark Mode setting, look for a ‘Theme’ setting within the app. If it supports system-wide dark mode, you will see an option for the theme to follow the system.

Another thing you can do is toggle dark mode in the quick settings. To do this, swipe down twice from the top of the screen to expand the entire Quick Settings menu. Find and tap the pencil icon.
A section with unused switches appears. Look for the “Dark Mode” or “Dark Theme” switch and drag it to the “Quick Settings” area.
Tap the check mark or back arrow when you’re done.
Now you can easily toggle dark mode on and off from the Quick Settings panel!
Dark mode is a great way to make the display more enjoyable at night, and it can even extend battery life a bit. Make sure to take full advantage of this feature if you have it!
