Can’t remember the birthdays of all your friends, family and colleagues? Fortunately, the Apple iPhone comes to the rescue with automatic birthday reminders. All you have to do is add birthdays in the Contacts app and flip a switch in Settings. Here’s how to set it up.

For this to work, you must have enabled notifications for the Calendar app first. To turn that on, go to Settings> Notifications> Calendar and toggle the switch next to ̵

In iPhone settings, turn on Calendar notifications.

You must also have a number of birthdays defined in your Contacts app. To do this, open Contacts, tap a contact in the list, select “Edit” and then tap “Add Birthday”.
