You can hide slides in Microsoft PowerPoint so that they are hidden during the presentation, but are still part of the file. You can also show hidden slides during a presentation or make them visible for future presentations. Here’s how.
Hide and unhide PowerPoint slides
To hide slides during a presentation, open PowerPoint and select the slide you want to hide by clicking it. The slide has a box around it when it is selected.
Once it is selected, right click on the slide. Choose ‘Hide Slide’ from the context menu.
The slide is now hidden in Presenter view. You can see that a slide is hidden if the thumbnail is a lighter color than the other slides.
To unhide the slide, right-click on the slide and click “Hide Slide” again.
The slide now reappears during the presentation.
Show hidden slides during the PowerPoint presentation
If you’ve hidden a slide but decided you want to show it during the presentation, you can do so without leaving Presenter View.
During the presentation, right-click anywhere on the current slide. Select ‘View all slides’ from the context menu that appears.
Once that’s selected, all of your slides, including hidden slides, will appear in a row. Hidden slides are grayed out and the slide number is crossed out. Click on the thumbnail of the hidden slide to show it to your audience.
Once you go to the next slide and want to show the hidden slide again, repeat the steps above.
If you often use the same Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, the content will likely change over time. If the contents of a slide are no longer relevant, you can simply delete the slide instead of hiding it.
