The calculator is one of the few apps included in every version of Windows. Clearly, a lot has changed over the years. In Windows 10, the calculator has the handy ability to stay on top.

If you find yourself using the calculator a lot, you should know that it can keep track of everything you do. This feature only works with “Standard” mode, but it is still useful.
First, open the “Calculator” app from the “Start Menu” or wherever you normally open it.
The calculator opens in the last used mode. If you’re not already in standard mode, click the hamburger icon in the top left and select it.
Now tap on the keep-on-top icon next to the “Standard” title.
The calculator appears in a slightly smaller window that always remains on top. You can drag it by grabbing the top bar. Grab the edges of the window to enlarge or reduce it slightly.
That is it! Simply click the “X” to close the window when you are done. You no longer have to switch back and forth between windows to do simple math.
