By default, videos & # 39; s in the Photos & # 39; s app are automatically played in various instances on iOS 13, making it a great way to get a quick, comprehensive glimpse while browsing. But this is not always ideal – especially if you are browsing through private or embarrassing videos & other eyes are on your screen. Fortunately, Apple has an easy way to disable this feature.
Disable automatic playback of videos & # 39; s
Photos & # 39; s are divided into four tabs: Photos & # 39; s For you Albums and Search . The automatic video playback function exists within each of these four tabs, but only in full-screen display and responsive raster display (layout with squares of different sizes).
Videos can play automatically in the Months tab on the Photo & # 39; s tab but this is not common. In the responsive grid view, video & # 39; s only play automatically if they are located on the larger squares.
Launch the Settings app to disable the auto-play video function to switch and go to & # 39; Photo & # 39; s & # 39 ;. Now scroll down and turn off "Auto-Play video & # 39; s and Live Photos" in the Photos tab .
Once it is turned off, video & # 39; s are not automatically played in full screen or responsive raster view on one of the four tabs unless you tap the play button. Below you see videos in both views that are not played automatically (unless played manually).
You can go back and enable the function from the same Settings page if you want videos to be automatically played again in the Photos & # 39; s app.
Live Photos are automatically played on each of the four Photos & # 39; s tabs for a few seconds, but usually only in full screen. They also play automatically under the months and days views on the tab Photos & # 39; s but it does not always work (possible bug).
Unfortunately, you cannot disable automatic playback of Live Photos in full screen, but you can disable it in the Months and Days on the Photo & # 39; s tab. To do this, you can disable the same setting in the first section ( Settings -> Photos & # 39; s -> Disable "Auto-play video & # 39; s and Live Photos" ). With the setting off, you can see below that Live Photos will still be played automatically in full screen, but not in the Days view.
