Battery Security Camera & # 39; s

Consider a battery security camera for a less permanent option. Models such as the weatherproof Arlo Pro 3 are resistant to the elements (such as the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor ), but they are much more mobile. Use one inside to keep an eye on your pet one day and move it outside if you expect parcel delivery another day. And when the battery is almost empty, simply charge it with the included charger from Arlo.

Parcel delivery to your home

Amazon Prime members still have an option to monitor their packages. Instead of checking traditional outdoor deliveries with outdoor cameras, the Amazon Key service delivers Amazon packages to at your home. This service is available in certain areas in the US. Check this list of cities to see if the key service is available in your town. The Amazon Key In-Home Kit is required to enable the Key service. It contains a Key-enabled Amazon Cloud Cam indoor security camera and an Amazon-approved external smart lock. With this kit you can receive notifications when a courier arrives and see how they deliver the package at home.

Amazon is not the first company to offer this type of service. The clever locksmith August, who took over the parent company of Yale in 2017 offers a home delivery service with the name August Access. Walmart also claims to be working on a home delivery service for groceries .

Smart padlocks and package storage

In addition to cameras & home delivery services, selected companies offer smart locks and storage options for your packages. Such a company is BoxLock . The product, also called BoxLock, is a smart padlock that works with a related BoxLock app.

This works as follows: a BoxLock delivery partner uses the lock to scan the package bar code. The lock unlocks and they secure your delivery in a storage container (available separately) until you can get home and pick up your package. UPS, FedEx, Amazon Prime and USPS are BoxLock partners.

Amazon also offers a Locker program in selected areas. Of course you have to travel to an Amazon Locker location, but with these kiosks you can pick up Amazon packages according to your own schedule with a six-digit code (instead of worrying about something on your porch).

If none of the above technical options appeal to you, don't worry. You may need a signature for your delivery so that packages are never left outside when no one is at home. You can also have your packages sent to your office or anywhere else where you are guaranteed to be during the day.
