Removing unwanted apps from your iPhone is a simple matter – hold down the app icon for a long time and then press the delete button when it appears. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said when it comes to removing tweaks from a jail-broken iPhone.
Many tweaks are not very polished and can cause buggy performance. Just like standard iOS apps such as Safari and Foto & # 39; s, jailbreak tweaks that you have installed via Cydia or Sileo are embedded in your iPhone's operating system and cannot be removed in the traditional way. That's why you have to go through Cydia or Sileo if you want to remove a tweak from your device.
Removing Sileo Tweaks
If you use Cydia, check out our guide on removing tweaks in Cydia. For those of you who prefer Sileo to Cydia, open Sileo and select "Packages" at the bottom to go to the page with all the tweaks and apps currently installed on your iPhone.
From there you can search the tweak you want to remove in different ways. You can enter the tweak in the search field at the top of the page, browse the alphabetical list or sort the list by most recent by tapping "Name" in the top right corner of the list and selecting "Date". "When you find the tweak , go ahead and tap.
Now tap "Change" in the app & # 39; s Details page and then press "Delete" from the prompt that appears, if you do this, a card will appear in the queue along the bottom with the package (aka tweak) that you want to delete.
To complete the tweak removal, tap the "Queue" button or swipe up the "Queue" card to fully reveal it and then select "Confirm" to continue deleting. Sileo will now remove the tweak from your iPhone, so wait until the process is complete and click on "Start Springboard" once it is ready to complete the tweak.
The good thing about the "queue" process is that you can actually put multiple tweaks in the queue to simultaneously to remove, which would be faster than doing each separately, as seen on the GIF below.
After your iPhone has received resprings, you will now see that your home screen or Settings app contains no unwanted or outdated tweaks that conflict with iOS. It is worth noting that you can use Sileo to remove a jailbreak tweak or package, even if you originally installed it through Cydia (and you can use Cydia to remove Sileo tweaks).
