GOG.com now has a refund policy that allows you to refund games that you have purchased within 30 days, regardless of how long you have played them. This broad new policy is much more generous than the biggest competitors of GOG such as Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Returning a GOG game
To return a game even if you have downloaded, installed, and played it, start submitting an application form. You can open the forms by directing each web browser to "support.gog.com", then scrolling down and clicking "Contact".
Select "Orders and payments" at the top of the refund request form.
Enter your e-mail address and order number. Although this is not mandatory, providing the original order ID will help speed up the process. You can find your GOG order ID in the original e-mail with the order confirmation.
Select a problem type. Currently there is no option & # 39; Refund & # 39 ;, so select & # 39; Other order related issues & # 39; unless another option suits your situation better.
Type & # 39; Refund Request & # 39; or something similar in the subject line. Then add a description of your reason for requesting the return. We recommend keeping your description simple and clear, but remember that your mileage can always vary.
Add all relevant files (such as a screenshot of any problems) and then click & # 39; Send & # 39 ;. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your request and GOG will contact you directly.
Can you really repay a game?
This return policy is surprisingly generous, especially given the financial problems of GOG in 2019. That said, GOG encourages customers not to take advantage of this generous, honor-based policy. GOG reserves the right to refuse individual requests for reimbursement, but it should be good as long as you do not abuse the reimbursement process.
The new GOG policy includes titles of Game in Development (Early Access), as well as pre-orders, which can be returned at any time for release or within 30 days of release. There are no limits to the number of games that you can return in a given period. If your country also offers rights, GOG will respect these rights.
DLC and seasonal passes are available for refunds if they are purchased as a stand-alone item, or as part of a game package that is also reimbursed as a one-off transaction. However, GOG cannot refund any DLC items sold as part of a game package. If you request a refund of the basic game that you purchased, but not the DLC that you purchased separately, GOG will refund your purchases of both the basic game and the DLC.
If you return a game due to technical issues, GOG has an incredible technical support team that works closely with you to resolve your issue so that you can continue to play. Make a request for this according to the instructions above. When you get to the page with the application form instead, click on "GOG.COM Game Technical Issues" and send that form.
GOG, owned by CD Projekt Red, developers of the beloved Witcher games and the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has always occupied a special place in the market due to their focus on preservation of many older titles whose developers may not even exist and more (business or business). You can read the essence of this new policy in the updated GOG user agreement and don't forget to always throw a coin at your developer.
