How to throw a party to watch the big game safely this Sunday

Watch Super Bowl might look different this year thanks to the pandemic, with football fans opting for virtual parties instead of houses full of guests eating snacks.

There is still time to plan a fun game day event, even if it is virtual. The big game between Kansas City and Tampa Bay is on Sunday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. There will be few 22,000 fans in the stands, including 7,500 vaccinated health workers.

There are many ways to do that watch Super Bowl 55 for free, such as on CBSSports.com and in the CBS Sports app. You can also watch live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV ($ 65 at YouTube TV).

I’m not a big fan of sports, but I love the food that is on a counter at a big game party. You can create an impromptu potluck if you plan to host a viewing party and dial in on Zoom with your group. I only recommend this for people who live in warmer areas – given the winter conditions in much of the US, it would be a bit uncomfortable to get out. If you’re hosting or attending an outdoor party, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have guidelines for staying safe, including wearing masks and standing at least six feet apart.
