How to view the notification center from the menu bar
The notification center is part of the menu bar on your Mac. If you’re using macOS 10.15 Catalina or earlier, you can click the Notification Center icon on the right side of the menu bar to open Notification Center.

If your Mac is using macOS 11 Big Sur or later, click the date and time in the menu bar to open Notification Center.
This expands the Notification Center and allows you to see all notifications and widgets.
Click anywhere outside of Notification Center to close the side menu.
View the notification center with trackpad gestures
If you’re using a Mac with a trackpad, accessing Notification Center is just a simple gesture away.
Simply swipe in from the right edge with your trackpad using two fingers.

Click anywhere outside the drop-down menu to exit Notification Center.
How to view the notification center with a keyboard shortcut
If you’re a shortcut person, here’s good news: you can configure a unique shortcut that shows or hides Notification Center.
To do this, click on the Apple icon in the menu bar and select the option “System Preferences”.
Then go to the “Keyboard” section.
Go to the “Shortcuts” tab here. Choose the option “Mission Control” in the sidebar.
Now click on the check mark next to the “Show Notification Center” option. You can create a unique notification center shortcut.
Once added, use the shortcut to quickly open or close Notification Center.
