Today Samsung is organizing its Unpacked event where we expect new phones, a portable and perhaps even a smart phone speaker. The festivities start at 1
What we expect to see
It is not a Samsung Unpacked event without new phones, and we are not surprised to see that a successor to the Galaxy S10 and S10 + is among the biggest rumors. Depending on who you ask, the most likely bets are two or three phones, and instead of S11 branding, these new phones may have an S20 name.
Rumored specs are about what you can expect from updated phones right now, but the big highlight might be a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. That would even outdo the buttery smooth OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T screens.
In addition to the standard Galaxy phones, we are looking forward to a new foldable, probably called the Galaxy Z Flip. That phone is guaranteed at the moment, thanks to Samsung which is releasing it on the Oscars. The Z Flip will probably not replace the original Galaxy Fold – you can see it as a brother or sister.
Instead of folding out to a tablet, it folds in like a flip phone, just like Motorola & Razr. The Samsung commercial suggests that the phone is not limited to fully open and closed positions; You may be able to use the lower half of the phone as standard.
It also seems likely that we hear something about an updated version of Samsung & # 39; s Galaxy Buds. Early leaks suggest that the new Buds will get a longer battery life and better call quality, but not much else in the way of new features. We will see if Samsung has surprises in its portable category.
At last it seems that Bixby is ready to come to your house in the form of a small Galaxy Home. Samsung opened beta testing for the Galaxy Home Mini months ago, and it seems to be the company's vision of the Echo Dot and Nest Mini.
Where to look
Samsung holds simultaneous events in San Francisco, New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Dubai, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney. If you are not lucky enough to see the event in person, the company also plans to stream the event live on its Unpacked site and on YouTube.
Feel free to participate during the events with your thoughts and comments. We will be present at the Unpacked event in San Fransisco and will bring you the latest updates as they arrive.
