Google's app design is fairly simple, but it doesn't have to stay that way. One way to cheer it up is to change the Google search background (and adjacent components) with a new theme.
You must use the Google Chrome browser. It does not work with Microsoft Edge or Firefox. However, Chrome is still the best browser that you can still download, so we recommend it even if you do not install a new theme.
Step 1: Go to your appearance settings
Open Chrome and look at the top right corner of your browser window for three points. Click on it to open the primary Chrome drop-down menu. At the bottom of the drop-down list you will see an option to go to Settings . Select this and you are on your way.
On a new browser tab for all your Chrome settings, you can see that it has been divided into different sections. View the section At the latest . Here you can determine what your Google window looks like. The first option in this setting must be Theme & # 39; s .
If you change your theme, your Google background will be adjusted automatically so that this is the option that you want to select. If you don't have a current theme, it should say Open Chrome Web Store . Select it.
Step 2: Choose your theme
Chrome should then take you directly to the Chrome Themes & # 39; s section. There you can browse through the many available themes for your Google experience divided by broad content type. The primary image that you see is usually the image that appears as your Google background, so you can use it as a guide that you can choose. If you need help, these are our favorite themes.
Each section only shows the top rated images for that content type, but you can take a look by selecting Select All if you find a section that you like.
After selecting a theme, you must view the preview images and reviews. The support section also gives you information about any problems that users have encountered when using the theme. Note that most themes extend their colors and patterns across the browser window and browser tabs, so view the full view. If you check the tab, you will see more themes from that specific developer.
If you find something that you like, click the Add to Chrome button in the upper right corner.
Step 3: Add it to Chrome
The theme must be added and enabled automatically. You can see how your browser tabs with the theme change and if you go to a new Google search page or open a new tab, you should be able to see the primary image. A message appears at the top of the window to let you know that the theme is enabled. This message also contains a button Undo to invert the theme if you want to change something quickly.
See if you like the general theme – sometimes you like the image, but not what the theme is does your tabs or other colors that it adds in the browser. If this is the case, press the Undo button in the message or go back to Appearances in the menu Settings and return to the default theme there. You can choose and disable as many themes as you want, because you are looking for the right one!
Use a custom image
Maybe you don't care for any of the themes you've found, or you would rather use a beloved personal image in Chrome. Chrome does offer a way to adjust your background. This will not change the color or style of your tabs, but it is an easy option for quick adjustment.
Step 1 : Make sure your version of Chrome has been updated to the current version. If your version of Chrome is very old, it may not have this customization option. Check if Chrome has been updated and if the image you want to use is available on that computer. Download it if necessary.
Step 2 : Open a new Google Chrome tab. Look in the lower right of the window and you will see a small pen icon. Select this to open the adjustment menu. Choose the option to upload an image . Chrome shows your local drive so that you can choose an image. You can also navigate to another disc if your image is somewhere else!
Step 3 : search for the desired image and load it. Chrome automatically uses it as a background image for the new tab window (high-resolution images obviously work best for this). Every time you open a new tab in Chrome, the image is displayed. You can remove it at any time by selecting the pen icon again and choosing Restore default background .
