How you can change your Windows password

Password problems are more than just forgetfulness. It's just a good habit to change them regularly because you don't want hackers to use passwords you created in the 1

990s. This guide shows you how to change your Windows password.

These instructions use three methods: in the Windows 10 Settings app, via the Microsoft website and on the login screen.

Change your Microsoft account password via the Settings app [19659005] Log in to your Microsoft account with the current password. Click the Start button and select the "gear" icon that appears along the left edge of the Start menu. This opens the Settings app.

Follow the steps to verify your identity, such as looking at a face recognition camera, swiping a finger, or entering a pin code or password. After you have verified, enter the current password followed by a new password.

Click on the "Next" button to complete.

Change your Microsoft account password online

The Login Options windows (Settings> Accounts> Login Options) in the Settings app provide a "Change your Microsoft account password" ". It essentially sends you to Bing, which gives instructions on how you can change your password online.

First, log in to your Microsoft account on the company's website with the current password. Once the site has loaded, click on the "Security" option at the top. You will see an "Change Password" option on the next page and a "Change" link.

Click on that link to enter your current password, followed by the new password (twice). Click on the "Save" button to complete.

Change your password for a local account

This method only starts after you have not logged in with a forgotten password. After pressing the Enter key and entering the wrong password, a "Reset password" link appears below the password input field. Click on the link.
