A recent update to i7 and s9 Roomba vacuum cleaners is causing them to act ̵
The 3.12.8 firmware update has caused a mind-boggling variety of navigation problems. Users have reported that their Roomba does things like turning around and bumping into furniture, getting stuck in empty areas, cleaning in weird patterns, and being unable to find their dock and go back there to recharge. Some users even claim that their environmental maps have been wiped out due to the update.
As a result, this update is causing issues such as the vacuum cleaners taking longer to clean and unable to charge as they cannot find their way back to the dock. iRobot is working on rolling back the update for affected customers, but in all likelihood, users will have to wait for a new update to roll out to get things back to normal. Fortunately, iRobot expects an update to roll out in the coming weeks, so hopefully we won’t have to wait long.
