A few things on Android and iPhone are not perfected. Selecting and copying text, for example, is a task that I often occupy myself with. But recently we came across a handy way to select text that is a huge improvement on how we did it.
To best explain this, I would compare it to when you click on a text with a mouse and hold down while you drag to select many words. Find a place where you can select text on your phone, and then press and hold a word. Without releasing, dragging up, down, left or right to highlight as many words as you want.
You will find this works the same way as a mouse, and it is exactly the same gesture on both Android and iOS. It is definitely better than holding down one word to select it and then using those small, small drag handles to adjust the selection.
