If you’re in the market for a new USB mic, you’ve probably seen options that start at $ 100 and go up from there. When you can find more affordable options, they often give up on the best features you might want. JLab thinks it has gotten the necessary threads with a new set of microphones that are affordable yet powerful.
The first thing to know about JLab̵
Take the conversation with you
As the name suggests, the Talk Go is a portable microphone that you throw in your bag. For $ 49, it gets the job done when you travel without breaking the bank. It’s compact enough to fit in a hefty bag, but don’t expect to be able to slide it into a tablet case.
JLab says the Talk Go works best for web-based audio calls or streaming and podcasting, thanks to its two condensers and cardioid and omni options. But you’ll miss other recording options, such as stereo and bi-directional, so don’t plan on creating a studio-quality web series. This one is good for the interview and a quick podcast if you’re on the go.
Get to know game streaming with the JLab Talk
If you want something nicer than a portable mic, but you’re not ready for a full-on pro just yet, JLab’s mediocre $ 99 Talk mic is for you. It supports three condensers, cardioid and omni, stereo and bidirectional, and a longer braided USB-C cable. Like the Talk Go, the sample rate is 96k.
JLab says the Talk is for game streaming, podcasting, and interview-style recordings.
Go professional with the Talk Pro
Finally, if you’re willing to spend and want the best sound, check out the $ 150 JLab Talk Pro. Here you’ll find three conensers, cardioid and omni, stereo and bidirectional, and a longer braided USB-C cable, and a much higher sample rate than the other 192k microphones.
You use the Talk Pro for calls, podcasting, streaming and vocal recordings at a professional level, such as voice acting.
You can grab all three of them on Amazon right now.
