When you type on a computer, you have the help of a mouse or trackpad to guide your cursor. However, unless you set up a mouse with your iPhone, you don't have that option on the road. That's why iOS needs to figure out ways to move your cursor so you can easily type wherever you want. In addition to other solutions, Apple has a way to jump your cursor wherever you want.
How does it work? If your keyboard is currently inactive, simply tap where you want the cursor to follow. If your cursor is already active, tap the word that you want to jump to, which brings the cursor to the beginning or end of the word. Then long press the center of the word, release and see your cursor appear in the middle.
It's a simple action, but one that can help make your edits more accurate. If you use your iPhone for a long time to type, you know that precision is essential and very often difficult to find. Have fun typing!
