This story is part of Holiday Survival Guide 2019 with tips on the best ways to manage the holiday season.

If there are two things that do not go together very well, it is diets and the holidays . Thanksgiving Christmas and any other food-oriented holiday can cause fear for those with specific ways of eating . We get it, you don't want to be too pushy and force your high-fat diet on your disapproving aunt, but you also don't want to sacrifice your own needs to appease people.

No fear, there are enough ways to adhere to your keto ways and still enjoy a delicious meal. It actually turns out to be easier than you think but you may have to do some extra research and bring your own starters and side dishes. Don't be sad if your friends and family skip your dish, that just means more leftovers for you!

<p> Fortunately for you, the main course of Thanksgiving is keto-friendly! Turkey appears to be a great low-carb starter with lots of protein. Whether your bird is fried, barbecued or smoked, they are all keto-friendly. Regarding gravy, feel free to use your favorite recipe and simply replace the standard flour with coconut or almond flour. </p><div><script async src=

2. Non-starchy vegetables are a go

This is not that difficult. All non-starchy vegetarian sides are excellent options for your Thanksgiving party. Think of crispy Brussels sprouts, cheesy zucchini casserole, roasted pecan beans. Do you already have mouth watering?

3. Cauliflower for stuffing or mashed potatoes

Cauliflower is loved by the Keto community because it is a great alternative to something that is usually made with potatoes or bread. There are many recipes for cauliflower filling that taste just as good as the real thing! This creamy mashed cauliflower recipe will fool all your family members that it is not a potato.

4. Make an appetizer that everyone will love

Not many people will reject something wrapped in bacon. Serve this crispy bacon-wrapped asparagus recipe as an appetizer and you'll be the new family favorite. It's so good that you might even recruit a few members to join your keto lifestyle.
