As part of a attempt to boost vaccinationsIn March, the company began offering a free Original Glazed donut every day for the remainder of 2021 to anyone who came to one of its “participating locations in the US” and presented a “COVID-19 vaccination card.”

The vaccine promotion will run through December 31 and will provide “one redemption per guest per day,” so you could theoretically get a free donut every day for the rest of the year — if you are vaccinated. Krispy Kreme said Tuesday it has distributed more than 1.5 million donuts to vaccinated Americans since the program began.

“On National Donut Day, come by and enjoy every donut you want with us. And if you help us overcome this pandemic by getting your COVID-19 vaccine, thank you and have a second donut with us,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme in a statement.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 50% of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated, and about 50% of Americans have received at least one dose as of Friday. How do you get a free Krispy Kreme donut a day if you’re vaccinated?

To be eligible, you must have your COVID-19 vaccination card. It must show that you have at least one of the two recordings of the Moderna or Pfizer Vaccines or the Johnson & Johnson Single Vaccine.

Wearing your “I have been vaccinated” sticker does not count. The company adds on its website that employees will not document or take pictures of your vaccination card because it “contains personal information.”

You’ll have to go to a Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru to get the deal, with the company noting that it won’t make the free donuts available to those who order online or through delivery apps.
