When you set up a “Windows Hello” login method, such as a fingerprint reader, facial recognition scan, or PIN, Windows 10 disables the password login method by default. If you want to sign in to your Windows account again with a password, you can get that option back as follows.
First, open Settings. Click the gear icon in your Start menu or press Windows + i on your keyboard to quickly open it.
Select ‘Accounts’ in Settings.
Look in ‘Accounts’ in the sidebar and select ‘Sign-in options’.
In ‘Sign-in options’, scroll down until you see ‘Windows Hello sign-in required for Microsoft accounts’. Set the switch underneath to ‘Off’.
Then close Settings. The next time you sign out or lock the screen (press Windows + L to quickly lock the screen if you want to test it.), You’ll have the password sign-in option available to you again. Best of all, you can still use Windows Hello login options if you want.
