The purpose of the toolkit is to help Unity developers solve problems while their apps are running, with nine tools available at launch. Developers can resolve network connection issues through the Transmission tool or view log files through the Runtime Control tool, while the Control Input tool dictates button and touch pad swipes in real time.

Meanwhile, the Surface Details tool, perhaps the coolest from a layman's point of view, shows how Lumin OS understands its spatial environment based on where users direct the controller. For example, Lumin OS can interpret a coffee table as a chair because of its relatively low height, but a counter is identified as a table top.

Conversely, the Control Pointer provides developers with a set of properties to determine how the controller handles digital objects, including the ability to target, select, and move objects. It also shows physical properties such as weight.

Other tools include Keep Front, an add-on that allows virtual objects to stay within the user's view, Place on Floor, a shortcut to give users a physical starting point in an app, Disaster Light, a rendering tool that optimizes light in an AR experience, and Spatial Alignment, an accompanying tool for Transmission for checking visual alignment between multiple connected users.

With these tools, Magic Leap facilitates the development of apps within the existing framework of Lumin OS prior to Magicverse, which promises to introduce a whole new paradigm into the company's spatial computing approach.
