  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go in Apps and notifications.
  3. Open the app you want to move to the SD card.
  4. Select Storage.
  5. If the app supports the feature, you will see an option to change where the app is stored. Go ahead and change it to the inserted SD card.

This process is reversible, so if you decide you want the app back on your internal storage, you can move it again using the same process.

If the previous method is not good enough or not supported by your apps / manufacturer, there is another way to move apps to microSD on Android. It may be a more convenient option. You can tell Android to treat your SD card as internal storage. This makes everything much more convenient as you no longer have to worry about where to put apps and files. Your internal storage and SD card will turn into one conglomerate.

Turning your microSD card into internal storage has its drawbacks. Once you’ve turned an SD card into a phone’s internal storage, you can only use that storage unit with that particular phone (unless you reformat it). In addition, the phone will also only work if the said microSD card is inserted. Removing it will restore the factory settings.

  1. Insert the micro SD card into your Android phone.
