Online Guide to Alcohol and Wine Delivery: Everything You Need to Know for the Holidays

Visit the WHO website for the most current news and information about the coronavirus pandemic.

The holiday season is with us now. With coronavirus cases still rising in the US, your parties might look a little different this year. No matter how your plans turn out, you may be looking for some wine, beer, and / or spirits to enjoy safely at home this season. If you get your face mask and fighting potential in-store crowds seems daunting, alcohol delivery could be a good alternative.

A number of national delivery services, wine club services and larger regional stores continue to deliver alcohol during the pandemic. Some restaurants that offer delivery and takeout also offer alcoholic beverages, although some states also require food to be purchased. (It̵

There are a ton of online alcohol delivery services, as well as wine delivery services and wine and beer-of-the-month clubs. Many regional and local liquor stores and breweries also have delivery options – for example, check out this ongoing list someone has put together of breweries in California that ship brews to people’s homes.

Alcohol supply laws vary by state, so not every service is available in every area. However, many states consider liquor stores an essential service during the pandemic, permitting the delivery of such beverages from restaurants and liquor stores where they may not have had in the past.

If you want to stock up on some booze without going to the grocery store or liquor store, here are a few services to check out. We update this list periodically. Just remember that the same rules that always applied to alcohol apply now more than ever: enjoy wine and spirits in moderation, and never drink and never drive.
