GeForce NOW was used exclusively for streaming PC games to platforms where the games are not actually installed until this morning. But it seems NVIDIA is interested in expanding the capabilities of its platforms. A new Disney short based on Big Hero Six hits GeForce NOW today, with added interactivity, as part of the all-digital Sundance Film Festival.
Baymax Dreams of Fred̵
The demo isn’t much of a game because it’s about one Dragon’s Lair level of interaction. There’s no reason you couldn’t do the same with, say, a mobile game, although the stream system’s character models look good and sharp. Strangely, it seems Baymax Dreams of Fred’s Glitch is only available on the browser-based iPhone / iPad version of GeForce NOW, despite the system being inherently multiplatform and only recently being available on Apple devices. It won’t show up in searches or libraries on PC, Android or other apps.
If you want to give it a try, install the GeForce NOW web client on an iPhone or iPad by visiting beta.play.geforcenow.com. Once you’ve logged in, search for “Baymax” in the games list to add it to your library. NVIDIA says it is available for a ‘limited time’, presumably it will disappear sometime after the festival ends on Feb. 3.
